Summary
: The ‘TER’ wines showcase the Gonet family’s pinnacle of terroir expression with a growing focus on the best practices for both preserving the land and developing the best possible fruit in the vineyards. This is not just a philosophical approach for protecting the earth, but the quality and character of the fruit produced creates noticeably better wine! With five years in contact with the lees and a low dosage, you are presented with a wine of precision and depth. The perlage (bubbles) is refined and abundant with a persistent mousse. The elegant aromatics are alive with fresh nuts, citrus, and white flowers. On the palate it reveals a chalky salinity true to the terroir of the region and expressive through the finish.
Food Pairing
Wine lovers the world over know that Champagne is a great pairing with just about anything! Not just for celebrating, Champagne can handle the most unique and complex food flavors. Also works well with comfort foods or brunch, like eggs benedict, most cheeses, ham sandwiches, fried foods like French fries, and of course caviar and raw oysters!
Varietal Notes
Chardonnay is the world’s most popular grape for producing white wines. So popular in fact, it has its own holiday, International Chardonnay Day, celebrated on May 21st! Chardonnay is a very easy grape to grow, and because of this you can find a lot of different styles and levels of complexity. Most wine experts consider the grape to perform best in cool climates and rocky soils like Burgundy and Champagne. It’s a very transparent grape, meaning it expresses the terroir of the region very well and it takes expert vineyard care and winemaking to craft a truly outstanding wine. At its best, Chardonnay can be hard to beat!
