Barolo presents with a deep and velvety garnet red color that develops orange reflections as it ages. This is an intense wine redolent with notes of violet and vanilla. Its balance is beyond compare but still delivers a complex range of flavors and aromas that mesmerize wine drinkers who appreciate its heritage.

Food Pairing

Grilled or roasted red meat, wild game dishes, smoked pork, or sharp, rich cheeses. Enjoy up to 10 years after vintage year.

Varietal Notes

Its name derives from the Italian word for fog -- nebbia -- in reference to fog that settles over hillside vineyards in the fall, a signal that grape harvest is near. Unlike its counterpart from other parts of Langhe, Barolo is the ultimate expression of Nebbiolo and its terroir. Its rich character and storied heritage assure Barolo remains the definitive "King of Wines." This wine exhibits robust fruit, oaky tannins and enjoyable smokiness -- a perfect foundation for age-worthy Barolo.
