The wines from this small estate are all organically farmed estate wines. Domaine de la Denante takes its name from the stream, La Denante, which runs through Davayé. About 80 per cent of the domaine is white. The remaining vineyards are planted with gamay and pinot noir for the Macon-Davayé and the Bourgogne rouge. The Bourgogne Chardonnay shows ample richness but there is finesse and elegance to the wine which makes it feel very complete. It’s extraordinary value in white Bugundy for certain.
This stainless steel fermented Chardonnay from 30+ year old vines is very fruity and crisp with a nice pop of acidity. This wine has a golden color and aromas of pear, citrus, grapefruit, and tangerine. The palate echoes the nose with intense fruitiness but which finishes rich and round. A lovely wine to enjoy with friends.
