Definitely the choice for tomato based sauces with pasta dishes, pizza & burgers. A great red wine alternative for roasted chicken and pork or grilled fish.
Sangiovese and its clones are widely planted throughout Italy. It is known to produce wines with high acidity and high tannins that often display flavors of dark cherries, plum, dried herbs and spice. Canaiolo is one of the grapes permitted to be used in Chianti wines. It is typically used as a softening component. Ciliegiolo is soft blending partner named after its cherry like flavor.
Long ago, tribes of people known as gypsies wandered the earth searching out new towns to explore, new people to meet and new skills to acquire.
Today, our “tribe” of wine professionals at Uva Imports follows in the footsteps of these adventurous gypsies, or Zingara’s as they were called in Italy. Yet our wanderings are focused on the discovery of the best wines from every region, small village and obscure vineyard throughout Italy. With the Zingara line we are proud to share some of our most value driven and highest quality findings from various wine regions throughout Italy. We hope that you enjoy them!
